| 1. Whats the latest on advanced physics? a. There is still no Unified Theory. Still unable to calculate the masses of quarks or the strength of the electro- magnetic force. The Graviton has never been detected. Still no working Quantum Gravity Theory. String Theory may some day solve these problems, but there is still a long way to go. The "Theory of Everything" isn't here now, and may never be here. They still have the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle and the Godel Incompleteness Theorem to deal with. Quote from Brian Greene in his book The Elegant Universe-"The extreme physical conditions that occured at the moment of the Big Bang and that prevail within Black Holes cannot be understood without a quantum mechanical formulation of the gravitational force. With the discovery of String Theory, we now have a hope of solving these deep mysteries.....It will be some time before String Theory mathematics are honed for the kinds of calculations required in a cosmological setting." Brian Greene is a physicist who actually helped formulate the revolution in String Theory in 1995. String Theory produces all of the equations of special and general relativity on its own, this is considered strong evidence String Theory is correct. Roger Penrose, from his 1995 book, The Large, the Small and the Human Mind: p.92-"..it turns out that the principles of gravitational physics are in fundamental conflict with those of quantum mechanics...p.137- My own view is that, to understand quantum non-locality, we shall require a radically new theory. This new theory will not just be a slight modification of quantum mechanics but something as different from standard quantum mechanics as General Relativity is different from Newtonian gravity." b. It may be impossible to test many of the predictions of String Theory since it would require temperature and energies similar to those at the Big Bang. No particle accelerator will ever have the energy to test fundamental aspects of String Theory. However, one thing predicted is the discovery of Superpartner Particles. The Large Hadron Collider in Geneva is expected to test a few predictions. c. I believe the Big Bang was not an explosion but the emergence of a preconstructed universe that God created before time began (God exists outside of time). This 14 billion year history of the physical development of our universe was all pre-planned, pre-designed, and pre-engineered by Almighty God. d. In 2004, the three most popular competing Big Bang scenarios are the Inflationary, Pre-Big Bang, and Ekpyrotic. Each model predicts a different distribution of the temperature fluctuations with respect to angular size, all 3 models match current data. New data is needed . Temperature variations can arise from two distinct processes in the early universe: fluctuations in the density of matter and rippling caused by gravitational waves. The Inflationary model involves both processes whereas Pre-Big Bang and Ekpyrotic predominantly involve density variations. Gravitational waves of certain sizes would leave a distinctive signature in the polarization of the microwave background. Future observations, such as from the Planck Satellite, should be able to see that signature, if it exists- providing a nearly definitive test. The Pre-Big Bang should also poduce a random back- ground of gravitational waves in a range of frequencies that, though irrelevant for the microwave background, should be detectable by future gravitational-wave observatories. Because Pre-Big Bang and Ekpyrotic models involve changes in the Dilaton Field, which is coupled to the electromagnetic field, they would both lead to large-scale magnetic field fluctuations. Vestiges of these fluctuations might show up in galactic and intergalactic magnetic fields. (Summarized from article by Gabriele Veneziano on ScientificAmerican.com 4-26-04) Note: If the Ekpyrotic model should be proved the more accurate, this could coincide with 2 Peter 3:10, that is a sudden cataclysmic destruction of this present physical universe. e. As a way to try to get out of the certain future destruction of our universe, some astrophysicists have proposed a multiverse (multiple universe scenario). But this offers no hope either. Einstein's relativity still comes into play and it's impossible for physical observers from one universe to contact observers of another universe. Hugh Ross in his book, Why The Universe Is The Way It Is, p.124 says, "Given that everywhere astronomers can measure design they see design, and given that the degree of design they measure is proportional to their capacity to detect and measure the design, it seems unreasonable (or disingenuous) to discount all evidence by appealing to that which can never be detected or measured." f. Theoretical physicists Arvind Borde, Alan Guth, and Alexander Vilenkin over a span of ten years published five more extensions of the space-time theorems. Any reasonable cosmic model, that gives life a chance, must be traceable back within finite time to an actual beginning of space and time. g. So since our universe is doomed, isn't it nice that the "causual agent" (Almighty God) has already prepared a New Heavens and New Earth, Revelation 21:1. |

| The Vast Complexity of Life | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| 2.Twenty different amino acids are required to produce the proteins that exist in the smallest living cell. All amino acids have side groups of atoms. Non-living amino acids have 50% of their side group atoms on the left and 50% on the right (Chirality). Living cells can only exist when 19 of the 20 side group atoms are left side. Researchers trying to make living amino acids in the lab, after many years of study, have not found one single means of substantially increasing the proportion of left side to right. The same problem, though more complex, exists for nucleotides. Any environment outside of already living organisms will quickly drive a homochiral reservoir into a random mixture of left and right handed molecules.The odds that side groups could assemble by chance all left side to form just one protein are one in ten to the 123rd power, in other words-Impossible. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Also impossible is the chance that the long chains of different amino acids in the proteins of living creatures linked together in the precise sequence to allow the protein to live. The problem for assembly of life molecules is to select from the randomly oriented amino acids only those that are correctly oriented, then to select out only the life-specific amino acids, then to bond the amino acids together into short chains, then to bond the short chains together to make chains of necessary lengths, typically, several hundred amino acids long, and finally to select out those chains in the right order that have the amino acids in the proper sequences. Meanwhile, the whole process must be protected so that the rate of formation remains sufficiently above the rate of destruction. In other words a random origin of life is impossible, the "Primordial Soup" is a joke. All connections had to happen at the same place, all components had to arrive at the same time, and the order of and connections had to be correct. After the amino acids and proteins there is the vast complexity of a single living cell. A living cell is composed of DNA, RNA, Ribosomes, Mitochondria, Lysosomes, Endoplasmic Recticulum, Golgi Apparatus, Enzymes, Regulatory Proteins, Nucleus, and Cytoskleton. A tiny DNA chain is enormously long, often containing billions of parts. A single human DNA strand contains 3.2 billion base pairs, known as the "Double Helix", called a Chromosome. A human cell has 46 chromosomes. If you were to take the amount of DNA in a single human body, straighten it out and place it end to end, it would stretch out for 50 billion kilometers. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| DNA does an incredible number of things in tiny fractions of a second. In each cell it gives instructions regarding how each part of the cell should work--Such as: Generating power, manufacturing a great quantity and variety of proteins, designating the function and relationship of the proteins, guiding final destination of key molecules, packaging molecules in membrane bound sacs, managing the transfer of information, assuming a high level of quality, waste disposal, growth, and reproduction. Looking at the human brain, it contains 50 to 100 billion neurons, 100 trillion synapses, total length of myelinater axons is roughly 176,000 km in a 20 year old male (Wikipedia). Aprox 1200 cubic centimeters in volume and weighs about 3 pounds. Each neuron is directly connected to more than 50 thousand other neurons allowing instantaneous transfers of messages across your brain. The human eye has the ability to transmit to the brain over 1.5 million messages simultaneously. The retina contains over 137 million nerve connections which the brain uses to evaluate and interpret the scene in vision. |

| b. Man has been unable to create life in the lab, from nonorganic compounds. The famous experiments 50 years ago by Stanley Miller and Harold Urey that generated a few amino acids are now considered irrelevant because they weren't exposed to oxygen or ultraviolet light. If oxygen is present in the terrestrial environment, it inhibits the production of prebiotics. However, without oxygen's presence, the Sun's ultraviolet radiation penetrates the environment, causing the destruction of prebiotic compounds. The carbon signature in Earth's most ancient rocks contradicts the traditional explanation of a primordial soup. Findings imply that the quantity of prebiotics on and in ancient Earth amounted to zero. Without prebiotics, no reasonable possibility remains for a naturalistic origin of life on Earth. This conclusion, more than any other, led to the launch of science's new disciplines---astrobiology and astrobiochemistry. In spite of much funding and searching, astrobiologists have failed to find any trace of evidence for extraterrestial life. None of the simplest building blocks for life (amino acids, nucleobases, carbon sugars critical for linking together the nucleobases) have been found. |

| 3. What about the Da Vinci Code, Gnosticism, and how the New Testament was formed? Link to Ankerberg, use their search feature. |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| The Davinci Code is fiction. Historians state that virtually everything Dan Brown says about Leonardo is false. Our four Gospels were chosen because they were the only ones that deserved it, they were written by Apostles or by companions of Apostles. Other so called gospels were written much later by Gnostics, who liked to mix in Greek mythology. There was no debate about what to use. Of the 216 bishops at the Council of Nicea in 325 a.d., 214 signed the Nicene Creed. The only debate was about whether Jesus has always existed (He has). Jesus was never married, there's no evidence to support that, it has helped sell alot of books though. The Priory of Sion (suppossed organization in charge of hiding the truth) was created by the French con-man Pierre Plantard in 1956. Plantard did time in prison for fraud and admitted in court in 1993 that it wasn't true. He died in disgrace in 2000. |

| 4. What about the so-called "Jesus Family Tomb"? Its nothing but wild speculation fueled by wrong assumptions, ignoring important evidence, and of course to make money and become famous. Read this: BenWitherington.blogspot.com |

| b. John Ankerberg has posted a 9 point criticism on his website, I'll give the main points but please read his actual article. Ankerberg.org 1. If there was a Jesus Family Tomb it would have been in Nazareth, not Jerusalem. 2. Why so many non-family members? 3. Jesus was a common name in the first century. 4. The statistics were also distorted about Mary Magdalene. 5. The DNA evidence is irrelevent and untrustworthy. 6. There is no historical evidence that Jesus was ever married or had a child. 7. There is no historical evidence that connects Mariamne with Mary Magdalene. 8. History says that James the brother of Jesus was buried alone in another tomb. 9. There is multiple historical attestation that both Christians and non-Christians knew where the tomb of Jesus was, and that it was found empty on the third day. Some other points: The ossuaries are in 3 different languages, suggesting a multi-generational tomb. Experts think there were probably 35 bodies in the tomb. The "Jesus, son of Joseph" inscription is graphiti like, not likely for a famous person and there was one year to prepare the ossuary. The inscription may actually be "Hanon" instead of "Jesus". None of the experts used in the Jesus Family Tomb documentary agree with its thesis (Frank Moore Cross, William Dever, Tal Elon, Stephan Pfann, Francois Bovan). Amos Kloner said there was a major discrepency every 5 minutes in the documentary. |

| 5. More on Creationism and the Age of the Earth The term Creationism refers to the view that the six creation days in Genesis are only 24 hours each, the earth is 10,000 years old at the most. This is also called the Young Earth View. It started in 1963 with the Creation Research Society founded by Henry Morris and the Institute for Creation Research started in 1972.The view I support, that the Genesis creation days took billions of years, is not currently included by the term Creationism, although I consider myself a Creationist. Unfortunately Creationism is the only view usually taught in churches. And anyone who disagrees with them isn't a real Christian, in their opinion.This embarrassment needs to stop. There is alot more data now than in the 60's and 70's, but I guess they like to be stubborn. Anyway, here are some highlights of what they teach: 1. Scientists are complete idiots, even Christian scientists. They are misunderstanding the evidence and jumping to the wrong conclusion. 2. There was no death of any kind before the fall of Adam and Eve, when sin entered the world. 3. Shortly after the flood, the dinosaurs on board the arc went extinct. 4. Astronomers are way off, the stars are close to earth. 5. You weren't there during Creation, so how do you know? 6. The continents erode too quickly for the Earth to be old. 7. Earth's magnetic field has decayed too rapidly to allow for an old Earth. 8. The sun is getter smaller as it burns and can't be billions of years old. 9. Trails of human footprints beside dinosaur footprints have been found. 10. You can't get correct dates using radiometric dating. 11. A hammer was found inside a rock. (I actually saw this on tv, shown by Carl Baugh.The hammer slides right out of the rock.) 12. The laws of physics were alot different a few thousand years ago. They try to be scientific at their church seminars. And because the people attending know very little about astronomy, physics, radiometric dating, etc., they get away with it. I recommend the book, A Matter Of Days, by Hugh Ross. B. From the book, More Than A Theory by Hugh Ross, 2009: "The Supreme Court affirmed that if creationism is valid as science, its right to a place in the public school curriculum is assured, no matter what its connection to religion. Based on testimony and documentation from both Christian and non-Christian experts, however, the courts found a complete lack of scientific credibility with the young earth position... Leading young-earth creationist proponents typically claim these judges were motivated by anti-Christian bias and misguided application of the United States Constitution. Yet case documents easily reveal the basis for those rulings: the courts could not find any scientific merit in the young-earth creationist cases.." |
